Normoxic Trimix: $600. Not included is equipment and helium fills (for both the student & instructor) If more than 2 days are required, the rate is $300 a day plus fills.
The Trimix course provides the training required to competently and safely utilize breathing gases containing helium for dives that require staged decompression, utilizing nitrox and / or oxygen mixtures during decompression to a maximum depth of 60 meters / 200 feet. The objective of this course is to train divers in the benefits, hazards and proper procedures of utilizing custom oxygen / helium / nitrogen mixtures as breathing gases. Gas mixes are not to have any less than 18 percent oxygen (O2).
Using Helium in the mix can help to take the edge off during deep dives. In dark, cold and unfamiliar environments narcosis is amplified. Helium is a lower density gas than N2 and O2 which makes it easier to breathe. This may lower CO2 levels. Learn theory, develop and practice skills to dive with Helium. Deco Procedures/Adv Nitrox and Intro to Tec or TDI Sidemount are prerequisites. Also known as Trimix, Helium, O2 & N2 can be used to take the edge off during shallower 100-130 ft dives.
4 dives are required. A different price is given with combo classes. Please see “TDI Standards and Procedures Trimix” for more information about class standards and combos. We will work together with an IT for any classes still in progress.
